It is a wonderful time of year as we start to see the new flowers pushing through the ground to say hello and the buds on the trees starting to appear to bring some welcome colour to our day.

At the end of last term we said a fond farewell (bagpipes and all!) to Mr Buchanan who retired having served our school for over 33 years supporting generations of children and families. We wish him all the best in his next big adventures with his family.

It is also my last term here as Head teacher of Seven Stars Primary School and Nursery after nearly 14 wonderful years. I have loved being the Head of this fantastic school and it is a brilliant way to end a 34 year career in teaching.

I am so pleased that the school is being left in the very safe and committed hands of Mrs Walsh who will bring her own way of doing things and move the school in the direction it now needs building on all that has gone before.

Our new school building is looking good and we have had half a year of getting used to it and settling in. We are due to open up the wider school field in the Summer term and the markings have now bee added to the MUGA.

Over this coming term we are looking forward to Comic Relief silliness and Easter Bingo excitement. The children will all be working hard and I have been so impressed with how well they are embedding our Learning Powers of Concentration, Participation and Pride and demonstrating our core values of Courage, Kindness and Resilience. I know they will continue to make good progress and we look forward to meeting parents at our Parents Afternoon and Evening in March.

Please see our school Newsletters to capture all the outstanding things we have been achieving since the start of the year and we will keep you updated along the way.

This really is a special place to learn, to work and to share lasting memories!
